The building has many ghostly stories , the main story is that back in the 1950s the Caretaker then went to wind up the clock in the Corn Exchange and fell down the stairs and his wife had to come and remove the body! He is believed to haunt the building .

Tewkesbury Town Hall was originally built in 1788 and is a grade II* listed building which is located on the high street and is the headquarters of Tewkesbury Town Council. This town hall has a lot of amazing history, located in the cellar. There are 3 cells as the Town Hall used to be the Court for Tewkesbury. Prisoners would be kept in these cells in the basement. The figure of a woman, believed to be the spirit of a former mayor's wife, has been seen walking the corridors and staircases. While Staff and visitors have reported the sounds of footsteps, creaking doors, and whispers, even when the building is empty. One account mentions loud disembodied banging that culminated in sounds like a steam train charging through the house. There have been reports of unexplained shadow figures in the courtroom area while. The sounds of children laughing and playing have been heard when no children are present in the hall.
